At Wyndham Park Primary School, our approach to learning is grounded in research and evidence-based practices to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Our structured literacy program features Sounds-Write, a highly effective phonics approach that provides students with the foundational skills necessary for strong reading and writing development. This systematic synthetic phonics program explicitly teaches students how the alphabetic code works, developing their phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, and fluency skills. Sounds-Write is delivered as part of a comprehensive two-hour literacy block, which also includes writing, comprehension, and speaking and listening.

This integrated approach ensures that students develop well-rounded literacy skills, with phonics instruction supporting their ability to read and write with confidence.
