Social & Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) & Rights, Resilience, Respectful Relationships (RRRR)

At Wyndham Park Primary School, we prioritise Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) to support the development of resilient, confident, and empathetic students. Our approach is guided by the Victorian Curriculum, including the Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) curriculum, which explicitly teaches students the skills needed to build positive relationships, manage emotions, and navigate challenges. A key part of our SEL program is the Zones of Regulation, which helps students recognise and regulate their emotions, develop self-awareness, and use strategies to manage their feelings in different situations.

Through engaging lessons and discussions, students deepen their understanding of emotional literacy, personal strengths, problem-solving, stress management, and help-seeking strategies. Our SEL program is embedded across all areas of learning and complemented by whole-school wellbeing initiatives that foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment. By equipping students with these essential life skills, we empower them to develop strong relationships, make responsible decisions, and thrive both academically and personally.
